The Vessel Safety Check (VSC) is a safety check service provided to owners of privately-owned recreational boats. It is a FREE service to the public and is NOT required by any government agency.

We help you be sure you have all the legally required equipment as well as some extra equipment for safety.

You may ask any member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for the name of a member who is qualified to Check your vessel at any time, check for one online to come to you, or you may attend one of the scheduled Safety Check booths.

NOTE: The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer, civilian branch of the Coast Guard. We do NOT have Law Enforcement authority. We want you and your boat to be safe! If there is a legal infraction on your boat, you will NOT get a ticket! We want to be invited back, to keep helping you keep your boat safe.
